Transitional words keep the reader or listener from getting lost and are most often found at the beginning of a sentence. Writers and speakers use transition words to help move the reader or listener from one idea to another.
Showing a time sequence: first, next, finally, at the end, in summary Adding information: and, not only, in addition
Stating an example: for example, for instance
Showing a result: so, as a result
Presentation Prompt
Be sure your plans and preparation includes: • A slogan and logo that support your cause
• Multimedia
• Notes regarding which presentation tool you will use
• Pronoun antecedents (page 9)
• Transitional words to guide the reader or listener (page 13) • Imagery to convey your tone (page 22)
• The present progressive verb tense (page 33)
• Syntax that strengthens your claim (page 35)
Step 5: Editing and Revising
Use the Scoring Guide and work with your group to rate one Public Service Announcement from the website listed on the Multimedia Campaign Student Exemplar. Next, work with your partner to complete your assigned job within your group. Finally, reference the peer editing checklist and graphic organizer and collaborate with your group to review each other’s work.

Did the presentation state the subject and claim clearly?
Did the presentation cite text evidence and details to support the claim?

or organization to aid and promote public recognition slogan: a memorable phrase or motto used to identify or promote a product or group. presentation tools: tools such as Prezi or PowerPoint that help you organize and present your campaign.
