Write a summary of the myth “Arachne,” using transitions that signal time. Before writing, read the model short summary provided. Notice how the transitions are varied. Try to use a variety of transition words and phrases in your summary.

Arachne was proud of her skillful weaving. Soon she grew famous for her talents. One day Arachne had an argument with an old woman who turned out to be the goddess Athene. Then Arachne and Athene held a contest in which they both began weaving amazing creations. In the end, Athene turned Arachne into a spider.
