The myth “Arachne” contains a series of events. The sequence of these events is often signaled by transitions words. In this activity, you will identify and analyze transition words and phrases.
Skim through “Arachne,” looking for transition words and phrases that signal time. Record example sentences containing transitions in the chart. Use the Language Resources: Transitions box for support. Underline the transitional word or phrase in each sentence. Then identify which event idea the transition links to.
