Planning a narrative
Use the graphic organizer to plan your narrative, following the Hero’s Journey archetype text structure. Think about the setting, what Joby will do, and what will happen during this stage. Make notes in the graphic organizer below by answering the questions.

narrative Writing Prompt
Write a draft of your narrative. Be sure to:
■ Establish the setting (give details that show the time, place, weather, etc.).
■ Describe the hero’s actions and feelings.
■ Develop the story with events that show the hero beginning the adventure.
■ Combine clauses and use sentence length to create pacing and mood in the story.
