In the fall, our school had its first 5K run. Early that morning, I strapped on my running sneakers.
I headed over to the school with my mom, dad, and sister. Our teeth chattered in the cold. We warmed up quickly once we started running in the cool autumn air. The course looped through the playground and down two hilly blocks to the brick firehouse. Finally, I finished the race. My legs felt like wet noodles!
