Step 6: Performing
You will now perform your dialogue for a group of classmates. Perform your presentation with your partner, each playing one of the characters in the dialogue. Keep these points in mind as you present your scene:
Tips for Presenting
• Speak loudly and clearly.
• Maintain eye contact with the audience.
• Avoid laughing at the humor in your own script.
• Use gestures—hand and body movements—to emphasize feelings.
Tips for Listening Actively
• Pay attention and don’t distract others.
• Feel free to laugh when the dialogue is funny.
• Think about how the performance contrasts with the original scene.
Use an Active Listening chart like this to record notes for each presentation.
