2. Upon completing your letter, you will evaluate and provide feedback for another group’s letter, based on criteria established in the learning targets and the Scoring Guide. Use the Revision Checklist below to guide your peer review. Prepare to share your thoughts with the authors of the letter.
Is the word choice appropriate for the audience?
Is the tone formal and businesslike, with no slang words?
Did the writers establish a clear purpose in the opening paragraph?
Did the writers use active and passive voice appropriately?
Are the reasons included in the letter specific and connected directly to the purpose?
Do the reasons make the letter more or less effective?
What suggestions do you have for making the reasoning more persuasive to the audience?
Does the final paragraph provide a sense of closure to the letter? If not, what could be added, changed, or removed to improve the closing paragraph?
Does the letter suggest a plan for moving forward in the partnership?
Does the letter contain all of the elements of a business letter: sender’s address, date, inside address, salutation, body, closing, and signature?

3. After sharing your feedback and receiving feedback from your peers, work with your group to revise your letter as necessary.
4. Edit the draft for mistakes in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and capitalization, and produce a final draft for submission to your teacher.
