ACTIVITY 2
Writing a Class-Constructed Short Story
WRITING PROMPT: Write a short story that meets the requirements listed in the Learning Targets at the beginning of this lesson. Refer to the Scoring Guide for this writing task. It will help you understand where to focus your attention and efforts.
You can find ideas for a storyby putting an original twist on a familiar story. For example, at the end of “The Fun They Had,” Margie is daydreaming about schools of the past—which would be our schools today! Imagine that she suddenly finds herself at your school, at an event or a time of day when she would actually experience “the fun they had.”
