ModEl: SHort Explanation
The noun shrewishness is an example of a noun with two suffixes. The base word is shrew, a noun that names a small animal. The suffix -ish is added to shrew to form shrewish, an adjective that means “like a shrew.” Finally the suffix -ness is added to the adjective shrewish to form shrewishness. This is a noun meaning “the condition of acting like a shrew.”
