Cheerleading, a popular school activity, should be made an official sport. Then, an offi- cial governing body, mainly experienced coaches, could set limits on unsafe cheerleading stunts. Today, these stunts, human pyramids and wild acrobatics, often cause serious or fatal injuries. Official rules, a feature of all organized sports, could ban dangerous stunts and prevent many injuries.
