Look carefully at the painting that follows. It is titled Mona Lisa (La Gioconda in Italian), and it was painted by the great Renaissance artist and inventor, Leonardo da Vinci.
First Reading: What do you see?
As you look at the painting, what catches your eye? What details do you notice? How would you describe the elements in this painting to someone who could not see it? To answer these questions, focus only on what you can see in the image.
