Writing with a Group
You have worked a lot in collaborative groups. As you begin writing a model
argumentative text, it is important to think specifically about the actions that will
help your group successfully write together. Consider the following writing group Roots and Affixes norms.

The word norm comes from the Latin norma, “carpenter’s square, rule, pattern.” Other words from the same root include normal, paranormal, and enormous.
Writing Group Norms
1. A writing group is a safe place to try out new ideas and present work “in progress.” Use it to take intellectual risks.
